Let’s face it, a tart is just a much easier way to make a pie. They can be made with pie dough, puff pasty, croissant dough.. and the list goes on. This is one that I am sure you will love and I am certain anyone can make… I mean, I made it and I am just a homecook, no classes here.. try it, love it, tell me about it…
Remember, the pears can be switched up….
Pears – Apple- Pears and Apple- Bananas ( yes bananas)- Berries-Plums-Peaches ETC….
Ingredients
3 -4 ripe pears ( we have a tree, I love that tree)
1 cup diced bananas ( told ya)
Few dashes of cinnamon
1/2 stick of butter ( unsalted )
1 tsp ground ginger
2 packed tablespoons of light brown sugar (packed)
one roll of premade pie crust
preheat the oven to 350 , dice the pears and add to a skillet with the butter, stir for 6 minutes over med heat. add the cinnamon, brown sugar and ginger… cook for 5 minutes, turn off the heat and then fold in the bananas .. roll out your dough into a rectangle and add the mixture right down the center. then fold the edges toward the filling. You can use a bit of dough o cut out shapes for the top like I did, but you don’t have to.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, allow to cool slightly and serve with whipped cream or ice cream… we like the ice cream … yumo
